Open Positions

Cytogeneticist The successful candidate will participate in projects developing next generation, whole genome image analysis technology with a focus on sample preparation, probe design, labeling chemistry, assay development and clinical data interpretation. Extensive experience in cytogenics and clinical diagnostic technologies such as FISH, interphase or fiber FISH, SKY and CGH/aCGH is highly desired. Experience and knowledge in large scale genetic association studies, genomic structural variations and genomic data mining are a plus.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD, MD or equivalent in molecular biology, cytogenetics, human genetics or a related genomics field. Experienced Masters level candidates will also be considered. In addition, 3-5 years of post-doctoral, industry or clinical experience is desired. Strong verbal and written skills are a must.

Molecular Biologist/Biochemist The successful candidate will work with a team to design and execute studies relating to whole genome structure analysis and sequencing based on single molecule detection. Responsibilities include DNA preparation, probe design, labeling chemistry and assay development. S/he will work closely with the engineering team to develop the technology and also work with academic and biotech partners to analyze and interpret data. Extensive experience in nucleic acid engineering and processing including the design and optimization of common enzymatic processes (polymerization, ligation, etc.) is highly desired. Experience in cytogenetics, fluorescent imaging and genomic data mining are a plus.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field and 3-5 years work experience of post doctoral and/or industry experience. Strong verbal and written skills are a must.

Biophysicist/Optical Engineer The successful candidate will have a strong background in fluorescence imaging techniques including TIRF and confocal microscopy. Experience in single molecule imaging of biological samples is highly desirable. Strong data analysis skills along with experience in configuring data acquistion systems are essential. Additional experience in microfluidic systems and/or sample preparation for single molecule studies is also desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in biophysics, engineering or other related field. Candidates with a Masters degree and 3+ years of relevant experience will also be considered. Strong verbal and written skills are a must.

Bioinformatics Senior Scientist The successful candidate will focus on the development and implementation of algorithms associated with the detection and resolution of relevant signals generated using a nanodevice detection system. The candidate should possess the following: 3+ years of experience developing bioinformatics algorithms, software and systems, strong knowledge in areas of general bioinformatics theory and practice, direct and specific experience with genome sequencing and analysis, strong interdisciplinary skills in computer science, statistics, and molecular biology. Experience in product development from prototype to production is desirable. The ideal candidate will have a MS in Bioinformatics, math, statistics, computer sciences, physics, engineering or equivalent experience (PhD a plus).

Microfluidics Engineer / Scientist The successful candidate will develop novel nanofluidic devices for whole genome analysis. Experience in micro/nano fluidic system design, microfabrication techniques and biological assay development for microfluidics are required. In addition, the candidate should be familiar with microfluidic simulation packages and also fluorescence microscopy techniques related to the analysis of flow in microfluidic devices.

The ideal candidate will have an MS or PhD in engineering, physics or other related field and 3+ years of industry experience. Strong academic candidates will also be considered as well. Strong verbal and written skills are a must.
